How to Acquire a Mental Health Plan?
Understanding the journey to access Medicare rebates for Psychology can feel a bit tricky. With Medicare benefits, you can save the following:

$92.90 per session with General Psychologists – with a gap fee of only $96.25
You can claim Medicare rebates benefits for up to 10 sessions each year. If you provide us your mental health care plan and GP referral, we can claim the medicare rebate for you so you can focus on therapy. Here’s how to acquire one:
Step 1: Book an Appointment with Your General Practitioner (GP): Book an appointment with your trusted GP, it’s best to ask for an extended appointment.
Step 2: Upload your GP referral and Mental Health Plan: When you book your first appointment with one of our General or Clinical Psychologists, we will send you an online form to upload your documents.
Step 3: Pay for your 1st Session: For your 1st session, you will pay the full private fee for your session prior to the appointment.
Step 4: Medicare Rebate Benefit Received: With your valid GP referral and Mental health plan provided, we will process the rebate for you and you will receive the rebate with 2-5 business days.
The Different Type of Referrals required from GPs:
When you acquire your initial GP referral and Mental Health Care plan, this will allow you to receive Medicare rebates for your initial 6 sessions. At your sixth session, your Unboxed Pride Psychologist will request an additional review plan. From here you can book another session with your GP to receive your review to allow us to process the additional rebates for your four remaining sessions. Mental health care plans renew every year, so you are eligible to receive rebates for a total of 10 sessions per year.
